• Football Scrimmage tonight @ I.H.S.@ 7pm – come out and support our football teams.

• The Cross Country Team is still looking for runners for this season – please see Mr. P in room 711 if you are interested.

• The Freshman Football team still has room on their roster – please see Coach Schilhabel in room 714 if you are interested.

• Attention Seniors, tomorrow is Senior Sunrise. Come out to the football field starting at 5:45 and take part in this yearly tradition. Free donuts on a first come first serve basis. Any question please ask Ms. Giese in room 708

• Attention Seniors – reminder that the packet information that you received on the blue cards are only available until the 29th of August – stop by the finance office and put down your deposit asap.

• ASB Stickers are available for purchase in the Finance office for $35 – they will give you free entrance to all I.H.S. athletic events within the Kern high school district, discounts for dances, clothing, etc. Also if you have already purchased one and it is not on your ID card please see Mrs. Moore in the Finance office.

• There are special packets available for anyone wanting to buy a yearbook and an ASB sticker – see Ms. Liz in the activities office if you need more information. Last day to purchase this packet is August 29th. The first 50 people to buy a packet will receive a free lanyard.

• Next Wednesday the 21st we will be having Mascot tryouts starting right after school in the activities office. Anyone interested needs to see Ms. Bravo or Ms. Liz in the Activities offices before then. Bring your spirit and enthusiasm to the tryouts

• New I.H.S. Shirts have arrived– if you are interested in sporting some new I.H.S. gear, stop by the finance office and check out our new inventory!

• To request a locker please go to the Independence website and click on Locker request form.

• The Senior Class will be having on Friday in room 708 during lunch. We will be voting on our senior class shirt design. Join us and get all of the upcoming information about your Senior year.

• Art Club will meet in room 221 on Friday, August 15th. during lunch. If you like Art join us!

• Any freshman interested in auditioning for a more advanced drama class may attend auditions on Monday or Tuesday (August 19 or 20) in Room 323. Please bring a memorized piece to perform - the piece should be approximately 1-2 minutes in length. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Heiss.
