Hello Falcons!! You will be able to get print library books,
even during distance learning!

3) The librarian will let you know when your books are ready to pickup via your gmail account.
4) Call the office to find out the textbook room hours the day you want to pick up your books.
5) Go to the textbook window to pick up your books (you'll return them there, too)

for many more helpful sites!!)
For Students:
These links will help you find books you want to read and things like videos about or by the author. I love the videos and audio recordings of the author reading part of their book, too. If you find an interesting book we don't have yet, I'll order it!
This website has so many ways to find good books! You can search by topic or just find books by exploring different lists. One of my favorite lists is the "Reluctant Reader" list. It has so many fun books! Please explore, find a great book, and let me know if we don't have a book you want to read! - Ms. Whitehouse

For Teachers:
One-stop resources for books you are teaching or encouraging students to read. The resources include author and illustrator interviews, lesson plans, and other enrichment content.

We strive to make the library a fun, welcoming environment for you to get your work done, relax, or play. Remember that this is YOUR library! Use it! Come find a book to entertain you. Come use a computer for work or play. Come make something in our Makerspace. Stop by for tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Or just come in and lounge and chat with your friends. If nothing else, stop by to say hello to Ms. Whitehouse, and make her day a little brighter!
Library Mission:
The mission of the Independence High School Library is to provide an inviting learning environment and a dynamic, student-centered library media program in order to promote life-long learning, information literacy skills, collaboration within the learning community, and a passion for personal growth among students and staff alike.

You will find all of the different passwords you will need for these various databases here and both posted on the bulletin boards in the computer labs and on the “IHS Library Useful Passwords” bookmark at the library circulation desk.
