·         FS football tonight @ South high  - come out and support your Freshman football team.  If you have an ASB sticker you get into this game for free.

·         The Cross Country Team is still looking for runners for this season – please see Mr. P in room 711 if you are interested.

·         The Freshman Football team still has room on their roster – please see Coach Schilhabel in room 714 if you are interested.

·         The Back to School Blacklight Dance is this Friday from 7-9 in the I.H.S. gym. Freshman pay $1 or are free with an ASB Sticker, everyone else pays $5 or $4 with and ASB sticker.  Wear your white and neon and join us in the blacklight fun.

·         Attention class of 2023 – if you are interested in running for Freshman class officer positions, you can pick up an application from the activities office. We have President, Vice-president, treasurer, secretary, and Class Rep positions available. Applications are due tomorrow.

·         Attention Seniors – reminder that the packet information that you received on the blue cards are only available until the 29^th of August – stop by the finance office and put down your deposit asap.

·         ASB Stickers are available for purchase in the Finance office for $35 – they will give you free entrance to all I.H.S. athletic events within the Kern high school district, discounts for dances, clothing, etc.  Also if you have already purchased one and it is not on your ID card please see Mrs. Moore in the Finance office.

·         There are special packets available for anyone wanting to buy a yearbook and an ASB sticker – see Ms. Liz in the activities office if you need more information. Last day to purchase this packet is August 29^th.  The first 50 people to buy a packet will receive a free lanyard.

·         If you need to see your counselor, make sure to submit a request to see them. The request can be found on the Independence website, under the 'Counseling' tab. Do not submit multiple requests as counselors are working very hard to see all students.

·         Attention all students! Friday will be the last day for any VALID academic schedule change requests. VALID requests DO NOT include teacher requests or period requests.

·         Maroon Goon shirts are available to purchase! Get a personalized shirt and show your school pride! Pick up a form from Ms. Liz in the Activities Office or Ms. Stout in Rm. 819. GO FALCONS!

·         Attention Star Wars fans, the Millennium Falcons will be having their first meeting on Friday, August 23 at 12:00. Beings from all galaxies are welcome! bring your lunch and May the Force Be With You!!

·         All boys interested in playing Basketball this year - there will be a meeting in the gym @ lunch on Monday - Get your lunch and come over to the gym asap.

·         Anyone interested in becoming part of the Astronomy club for 2019-2020 is invited to join us for our first club meeting this school year. Meet up in room 901 during lunch every Thursday starting today. Come find out about the upcoming star party!

·         Art Club is having their second meeting, Friday, August 23rd during lunch in room 221. Bring your lunch. We will be choosing our presidency and making some art.
