·         Congrats to our Varsity Volleyball team for taking 3^rd out of 18 teams in their tournament this weekend.

·         Congrats to our JV football team for their win over Mission Oak of Friday.

·         There will be a meeting for all interested baseball players Thursday at the beginning of lunch in the Gym.

·         All boys interested in playing Basketball this year - there will be a meeting in the gym @ lunch on Monday - Get your lunch and come over to the gym asap.

·         The Cross Country Team is still looking for runners for this season – please see Mr. P in room 711 if you are interested.

·         The Freshman Football team still has room on their roster – please see Coach Schilhabel in room 714 if you are interested.

·         Attention Seniors – reminder that the packet information that you received on the blue cards are only available until this Thursday, the 29^th of August – stop by the finance office and put down your deposit asap.

·         There are special packets available for anyone wanting to buy a yearbook and an ASB sticker – see Ms. Liz in the activities office if you need more information. Last day to purchase this packet is this Thursday, August 29^th.  The first 50 people to buy a packet will receive a free lanyard.

·         If you need to see your counselor, make sure to submit a request to see them. The request can be found on the Independence website, under the 'Counseling' tab. Do not submit multiple requests as counselors are working very hard to see all students.

·         Maroon Goon shirt order forms are due on Wednesday! Get your personalized shirt NOW! See Ms. Liz in the Activities Office or Ms. Stout in Rm. 819 for more details.

·         Adventist Health is looking for student volunteers for their Winter/Spring Junior Volunteer Program. Students must be 15 years or older. Please go to our school website for more information and for the application. Go to "Counseling," "Counseling Homepage," and find "Community Service" on the right hand side.

·         Back to school night is tonight – please make sure your parents know that it begins @ 6:00 pm – Football is bbqing before – dinners will be $7.

·         Black Student Union is having their first meeting tomorrow in room P-2 @ lunch. Grab your lunch and come on over.

·          Maroon Goons are having a meeting today in room 819 @ lunch.
