·         FS football tonight vs Arroyo Grande – Game is @ I.H.S. – start time is 6 pm.

·         Volleyball plays today @ Mira Monte HS – Game times 4, 5 & 6:15 pm

·         Tennis today vs Mission Oak -JV & Varsity @ Mission Oak – matches start @ 3:45 & 5:45

·         Girls Golf has a match today @ Sundale Country Club.

·         Good luck to all of our Athletes today.

·         .There will be a Softball meeting today in the Library @ lunch – All girls interested in playing softball this year need to attend.

·         Student store will be open after school @2:45 to sell various items – they will be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

·         Your Independence Maroon Goons will be offering FREE school spirit face paint in the Quad at lunch tomorrow. See you there! As well as at the football game Friday. Be sure to wear your Maroon and Silver gear and sit in the Student Section!

·         Attention all students! Kern County College Night is next Monday, September 9th at 5:00 to 8:00 at Rabobank.

·         The CSF Drive for Spring 2019 membership begins Monday, September 9th and ends September 19th. You can download an application from the IHS website found under the 'Academics' tab or pick one up from the Counseling office before school, during your lunch or after school only. Remember to attach a copy of your report card or unofficial transcript. You now have the capability to print your own unofficial transcripts from StudentVue. Click on the 'Course History' tab to the left and then the blue 'unofficial transcript' button near the top.

·         Maroon Goon meeting at lunch in Miss Stout's room 819 at noon Today. Grab your lunch and come by for a quick meeting.

·         The French Club will meet every Monday in room 813. Everyone is welcome! You don't need to be in a French class to be a part of the French Club.

·         Come find out about this Saturday's "Star Party" in conjunction with the Kern Astronomical Society at Panarama Park! Meet in Room 901 at noon Today.

·         The Hearts for Paws Animal Club will be having its first meeting of the year Today at lunch. Come hear about the wonderful things your board members have planned for this year! Room 905 at noon on Thursday!

·         Would you like to tour colleges with friends? We are heading to USC and CSU LA in September. Come to room 1103 during lunch TODAY and get details about our club.

·         The Battle of the Books Club and Library Club will meet today at 12 o'clock in the library computer labs. All Battle and Library Club members please attend, so we can fill out paperwork and plan for the Club Fair day.

·         There will not be an Art Club meeting on 9/5/19.
But you can stop by room 221's door to see who was elected as the Art Clubs presidency. We will have a meeting next week, Friday 9/13 during lunch.
