Good morning, Falcons! Hope you all had an amazing weekend!  It’s Kindness Week, and we have some awesome activities and challenges planned - so keep an eye out for the QR codes posted around campus.  You’ll be able to submit proof of your challenges and help your class win ice cream on Friday!

Today is Mindful Monday and we’re going to focus on Suicide Awareness.  Many of us struggle with mental health issues, and the pandemic certainly hasn’t helped.  We’re going to learn about the warning signs and the resources available to you if you’re feeling depressed or anxious.  There will be a video in your 2nd period class, counselors will be available to talk in the quad, and we’ll be handing out bracelets and resources during lunch.  Your challenge today is to take a selfie with the back of your ID card showing the suicide hotline info.  That number saves lives, so let’s make sure we capture it in as many selfies as possible!  Submit your photo using the QR codes you’ll find around campus.

We’ll have more activities every day this week, so keep up the kindness and stay focused on the challenges so you can win that delicious prize!

For all of you slow walkers, we are going to continue to have random tardy sweeps.  If you get caught in a tardy sweep, your parent will be contacted and you will be assigned lunch detention.  So hurry up and get to class!

Calling all FRESHMEN! Do you want a free Homecoming T-shirt? Come check in with Mrs. Barker in 1209 to find out how you can earn one. We need the BEST dancers, artists and free thinkers to help out.

If you plan on playing girls basketball this season, it is EXTREMELY important that you have both your physical and athletic packet completed and turned in before Monday, October 11th, which will be the first day of conditioning. You will not be able to participate unless you have been cleared. If you have any questions please see Coach Zetina, Coach Davis (not Mr. Davis…Miss Davis) or Coach Kirby.

Attention all future wrestlers: If you are interested in joining the boys or girls wrestling team this season, there will be a meeting during both lunches on Thursday, September 30th in the wrestling room in the gym.

The Anime club will be meeting today in room 911 during 4th-period lunch and in room 1012 during 5th-period lunch.

Anyone interested in joining the National Honor Society should attend the meeting on Thursday during 5th-period lunch in Room 713.  Grab your lunch and head over - the meeting will start at noon!

SENIORS: Confused about how to start your FAFSA?  Don’t panic!  We’re having workshops to help create the FSA ID. They’ll be held on September 29th and 30th - you pick which date to attend. Sign-ups are in the counseling office with Mrs. Gillenwater - before school, lunch or after school.

Club Fair Day is this Wednesday!  Club advisors - please submit your sign-up form by today to reserve your table!  Students - check with your teachers to make sure they completed the form!

The Writing Club will be meeting today during 5th-period lunch in room 713. Drop by to help prepare our poster for Club Fair Day!

Beginning this week, there will be tutoring in the library on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There will be subject-specific tutoring and homework help from 2:45-4:15. There will also be a tutoring bus that leaves at 4:30 from the gym parking lot. Check out the flyers around campus or ask your teachers for more information.

Class competition alert! Do you want to win an ice cream party for your class? Do you even have to ask? If so, have your parent or guardian submit your 2021 Lunch Alternative Income Form BEFORE October 6th. The form is on our website and paper copies are available in the counseling office. The class that submits the highest number of forms will receive an ice cream party on October 15.
