Good morning, Falcons!
Best of luck to all our athletes competing today and this weekend! Almost every team is traveling (except for our frosh/soph women’s basketball), so wish them luck!
Football heads to regional playoffs TODAY! Hope to see all of you wearing white as we celebrate our team as they leave for Venice this afternoon! We’ll be forming a parade route at the end of 7th period to cheer them on as they board their bus - teachers, please check the email from Principal Juola for information about when and where to go!
We’ll be starting our door decorating contest next week! Teachers will complete a sign-up form to choose the color paper you want for your door, but the design and construction must be entirely student-led. We’ll deliver paper to you on Monday, and judging will take place on Friday, December 10. Winners will be announced on Monday, December 13 - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners will earn donuts!
Senior shirts may be picked up during 5th-period lunch (do not come during or between classes - you will be sent back to class).
Next week, we’ll kick off our Penny Wars for the Ronald McDonald House - this is an organization that provides housing and support for families with children in the hospital. So, you’ll be collecting pennies in your 2nd-period classrooms - we’ll start distributing cans today! The winning class will earn donuts!
We have another blood drive coming up on December 16 - if you’re interested in participating, please come pick up a permission slip from the Activities Office starting today and set up your appointment online - use the QR code that is posted on the flyers around campus. Remember - you must be at least 16 years old to donate and everyone must get paperwork signed by parents/guardians.
Before you know it, it will be 2022, which means it’s time for another Food Sale Day! Our next Food Sale Day is scheduled for Thursday, January 6. Make sure your club advisor signs up using the form they received in their email. Also, all finance office forms must be submitted by 12/16 in order to participate.
If you would like to buy a gift for a local child in need, please visit the front office and select a star from the tree - check in with Mrs. Hoopiiaina to get signed up. We’ll be delivering them the week before break. Help give a child a great holiday!
Attention staff: It’s time to show IHS who rules the school: MAROON OR SILVER? Make sure to check out the email you received regarding the Maroon/Silver Reboot - there’s a Canvas tile with all the information you’ll need. There are plenty of ways to earn points in the next few weeks - show us which team is the hungriest for the win!
We’ll be having a spirit week starting Monday, December 13th. Get ready for some dress-up days, lunch competitions, and great prizes! More information to come!
Color guard tryouts will be happening Monday and Tuesday (December 6 and 7) from 5:30 - 8:00pm. Please see Ms. Liz in the Activities Office to sign up.
