Good morning, Falcons! Happy Friday! We’re almost at the end of January, which means we really only have 4 more months of school left! Can you believe it?
Today is “National Blueberry Pancake Day,” and, although I’m very appreciative of our cafeteria staff, I was a little disappointed that blueberry pancakes were not on this morning’s menu. I guess I’ll just have to have “breakfast for dinner” tonight!
Huge congratulations to our boys’ basketball teams for their amazing work last night against BCHS! Amarius had 14 points in the first 2 quarters alone! Keep up the amazing work, guys!
If you played a fall sport, you’ll be receiving a certificate and pin from ASB delivered to your class over the next couple of days. We’ll also be delivering pictures to those of you who ordered them. We are so proud of all of our amazing football, volleyball, tennis, golf, water polo, and cross country athletes!
Hey Falcons! Spring sports have already begun! If you are not already playing basketball, soccer, or wrestling right now, come try out for a spring sport!!! SWIMMING, TRACK, BASEBALL, SOFTBALL, BOYS TENNIS and BOYS GOLF need more players, so come try out for the team! Come to the athletics office during lunch or after school to learn more and see about being cleared to play a sport!!
Congratulations to our varsity e-sports team, who won their match against Liberty 2-0. Also, the team is still accepting new members, even if they have no experience or a computer of their own.
If you are interested in joining the swim team, we start in the pool this week. Practice is from 3-5:30 and you need a suit and goggles. All levels of swimmers are welcome. Come to 1125 or the athletic office for more info. Make sure you have a physical first!
The wrestling team senior night for both boys and girls is tonight! If we beat Ridgeview in this duel, this will be the first time in the SYL that we will be League Champs! Come out and support our wrestlers!
Huge shoutout to everyone who came out for the first round of auditions for the spring musical! Remember, the singing portion of the audition process will take place today after school. Names for callback auditions will be posted on Monday!
Seniors! Yearbook students will be out during 5th lunch in front of the deans’ office today and Monday. Come check your senior photo and spelling of your name! Make sure it's correct in the yearbook. This is your SENIOR YEAR! Also, don't forget to scan the QR codes around campus to vote for the “senior best.” Voting ends today!
All students: Don't forget to buy your yearbook. Sales end soon! We cannot guarantee there will be extras. Purchase your book in the finance office or on Jostens.com. The final purchase deadline is February 25, which will be here before you know it!
Mrs. Ojeda will be having 3 workshops to help with your FAFSA - Financial Aid application or your California Dream Act application. She can answer questions you have, get you started on the application, or help you complete it and turn it in. Please sign up in the counseling office, before school, lunch or after school, to attend.
Attention seniors! You have another chance to apply to Taft College. On Monday January 31, the outreach counselor from Taft College will be at our school. Please sign up in the career center.
The final payment deadline for AP tests is 2/25 - make sure to get your payment in by that date!
Have a great Friday, Falcons!
