Good morning, Falcons!  Hope you had a great weekend!  Special belated birthday shoutout to Mrs. Villareal - hope you had lots of cake!

Well, it’s the last day of February, so here’s an amazing fact to wrap up Black History Month: President Joe Biden nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court on Friday, setting in motion a historic confirmation process for the first Black woman to sit on the highest court in the nation.  "For too long, our government, our courts haven't looked like America," Biden said. "I believe it's time that we have a court that reflects the full talents and greatness of our nation with a nominee of extraordinary qualifications, and that we inspire all young people to believe that they can one day serve their country at the highest level."  Again, huge thanks to our BSU and Mrs. Lyons for helping spearhead this month’s activities!

We’re currently planning a cultural appreciation week - more details will come soon, but if you’d like to represent your culture in dress, dance, language, and/or food, start thinking about how you’d like to showcase your heritage!

Seniors: If you ordered senior shirts/hoodies in the second round of ordering, you may pick them up during 5th-period lunch or after school.

Girls’ tennis will meet in Portable 7 during 4th period lunch on March 2nd for fall awards.  Please stop by to see Ms. Hinzo or Ms. Ramirez if you have any questions.

AP/Honors applications are now available!  From the IHS website, go to the "Counseling" drop down menu and select "Forms/Applications."  You may also pick up a copy in the Counseling Office.  They are due THIS Friday, March 4th.

Scholarship Reminder! Attention, graduating seniors! If you are planning to attend college, university, or an accredited technical school following graduation, be sure to apply to the Kern County Foundation. Students with a GPA of 2.0 and higher are welcome to apply. One common application completed will be sent out to multiple organizations offering scholarships.  Don’t waste an opportunity for free money!

Have a great day!
