Good morning, Falcons! What a great start to Women’s History Month - you may have seen in the news that Dr. Brenda Lewis, who just retired from Kern High as an assistant superintendent, was appointed to the California Board of Education by Governor Newsom. We’re so proud that Dr. Lewis is representing us on a state level!
Attention seniors! Class of 2022 will be having a meeting today at lunch in room 607! We will be discussing end of the year activities, such as the senior breakfast and senior sunset! Do you want a hypnotist? A magician? An Arianna Grande concert? Well, that last one is probably out of our budget, but if you have ideas, please make sure you attend!
Also, seniors, you must order your cap and gown! Don’t wait until the last minute - you can call or visit Jostens, or you can order from their website.
All permission slips for Iron Man and Powder Puff must be submitted tomorrow!
Both the Varsity and JV e-sports teams beat Highland in yesterday’s match. Huge congratulations to Erik Gutierrez for winning the district Scramble tournament. And thank you to all players who entered IHS’s first official Smash Tournament, where Bruce Souvannasane took Grand Prize.
We will have an open mic in the library during lunch on Monday, March 28. This will be our first Open Mic since 2019 and we can't wait to see the talent we have here at IHS! You can do karaoke, play an instrument, or even read an original poem. Show your skills! We need volunteers to help run it AND to perform. Stop by the library counter to sign up!
Congratulations to the freshman class, which currently has the most RISE points! As a reward, freshmen will receive ice cream during 4th-period lunch tomorrow! Make sure to have your IDs with you!
AP/Honors applications are now available! From the IHS website, go to the "Counseling" drop down menu and select "Forms/Applications." You may also pick up a copy in the Counseling Office. They are due TOMORROW.
