Good morning, Falcons!  Happy Friday!

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s important to look at the experiences of all women.  For example, The 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote, was signed into law on August 26, 1920. But at the time, a number of other laws prohibited Native American women, Black women, Asian American women, and Latinx women from voting, among others. It wasn't until 1924 that Native women born in the United States were granted citizenship, allowing them to vote. But even after that, Native women and other women of color were prevented from voting by state laws such as poll taxes and literacy tests. It wasn't until 1965, when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law, that discriminatory tactics such as literacy tests were outlawed, and all women could vote.

Happy birthday wishes to Ms. Amanda Jackson and Mr. Carlos Macedo!  Hope you have lots of cake and ice cream!  Also, don’t forget to wish Mr. Bliss an early happy birthday - he’ll celebrate another year on this planet on Sunday!

Seniors, you must order your cap and gown!  Don’t wait until the last minute - you can call or visit Jostens, or you can order from their website.

We’re hosting a Sadie Hawkins dance on March 17 here on campus from 3:30 - 5:30!  We’ll have music, snacks, and possibly a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow (real gold not guaranteed)!  Tickets will be available in the finance office starting Monday for $3 with an ASB sticker or $5 without an ASB sticker.  Don’t miss out!

All permission slips for Iron Man and Powder Puff must be submitted today!

The gaming club will be holding its weekly smash games during 5th-period lunch in room 1010. All players new and old are welcome to join.

We will have an open mic in the library during lunch on Monday, March 28. This will be our first Open Mic since 2019 and we can't wait to see the talent we have here at IHS! You can do karaoke, play an instrument, or even read an original poem. Show your skills! We need volunteers to help run it AND to perform. Stop by the library counter to sign up!

Congratulations to the freshman class, which currently has the most RISE points!  As a reward, freshmen will receive ice cream during 4th-period lunch today!  Make sure to have your IDs with you!

AP/Honors applications are now available!  From the IHS website, go to the "Counseling" drop down menu and select "Forms/Applications."  You may also pick up a copy in the Counseling Office.  They are due TODAY!

Have a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!
