Good morning, Falcons! Happy birthday to Mr. McQuilliams! And a belated happy birthday to Mrs. Elrod, whose birthday was yesterday! We love you both!
Here’s your women’s history month fact of the day: Approximately 14% of active members in the U.S. armed forces today are women. In 1950, women comprised less than 2% of the U.S. military. Today, women play an active role in serving their country through military service, but many in years past would simply disguise themselves as men in order to gain access to the battlefield, including well-known examples like Frances Clayton in the American Civil War.
Tonight is our spring band and orchestra concert - come listen to our amazing Falcon musicians! The show starts at 7pm!
Congratulations to all the athletes who were honored at last night’s winter sports awards ceremony - so great to see all of our incredible athletes being recognized! A special thank you to Niam Edralin and Josh Bell for spearheading the event, along with Mr. LaRosa and Ms. Liz for helping organize everything!
Both the Varsity and Frosh/Soph esports teams have won the last games of their season 2-0. This was the first time in KHSD history for a team to go undefeated the whole season, so congrats to the Varsity League team. This week's MVP was Auday Ahmed. Congratulations to our Falcon gamers!
If you’d like to participate in our Culture Club Showcase and celebrate your heritage, please join our planning meeting today during 5th-period lunch in P2!
Attention NAMI Club Members: There will be no NAMI Club meeting today. See you next Thursday.
Seniors, you must order your cap and gown! Jostens will be back on campus TODAY during 5th-period lunch! Don’t miss out!
We’re hosting a Sadie Hawkins dance on March 17 here on campus from 3:30 - 5:30! Tickets are available in the finance office for $3 with an ASB sticker or $5 without an ASB sticker. Remember, you can only visit the finance office during lunch or before/after school. Anyone who comes during class will be sent back.
We will have an open mic in the library during lunch on Monday, March 28. This will be our first Open Mic since 2019 and we can't wait to see the talent we have here at IHS! You can do karaoke, play an instrument, or even read an original poem. Show your skills! We need volunteers to help run it AND to perform. Stop by the library counter to sign up!
Have a great Thursday, Falcons!
