Good morning, Falcons!  Hope you’re not too exhausted from losing an hour this weekend!  Try to focus on the beautiful extra hour of sunshine we have now!

In honor of both Pi Day and Women’s History Month, let’s celebrate the incredible women mathematicians from history!  Today, let’s look at Ada Lovelace, an English Mathematician who is regarded as the world’s first computer programmer!  In 1836, she wrote the world’s first computer program known as an algorithm for an Analytical Engine to compute Bernoulli numbers.  In 1852, Lovelace died due to an illness at only 37 years old. However, despite her short life, she made significant contributions to the fields of mathematics and computer science that can still be seen to this day. She is still regarded as the first person to understand the potential of a computing machine. Now, it’s time for us to go get some pie from Marie Callender's as a tribute to Ada Lovelace!

If you have a story about an inspiring woman you’d like to feature, please contact Mrs. Heiss!

Art Club and Garden Club Members: Don’t forget to meet today during 5th lunch in Room 221 for our painted flower pot collaboration activity!

We’re hosting a Sadie Hawkins dance this Thursday, March 17, here on campus from 3:30 - 5:30!  Tickets are available in the finance office for $3 with an ASB sticker or $5 without an ASB sticker.  Remember, you can only visit the finance office during lunch or before/after school.  Anyone who comes during class will be sent back.  School dress code applies, but we hope to see everyone in green, gold, and rainbow!  It’s casual, so don’t come in ball gowns!

We will have an open mic in the library during lunch on Monday, March 28. This will be our first Open Mic since 2019 and we can't wait to see the talent we have here at IHS! You can do karaoke, play an instrument, or even read an original poem. Show your skills! We need volunteers to help run it AND to perform. Stop by the library counter to sign up!

Have a great week, Falcons!
