Good morning, Falcons! Hope you all had a great spring break! The rest of the school year will fly by, so enjoy every minute! Also, please make sure to listen to all the announcements, as there will be critical information for all classes.
Interested in being a leader on campus next year? The application for ASB is live on the IHS website homepage! Contact Mrs. Heiss with any questions. Applications are due on Friday and teacher recommendations are due 4/26.
This Thursday is our last Food Sale Day for the year! Make sure to bring extra cash to buy some delicious treats! Also, remember that we offered the “flash passes” again in the RISE store!
We have the renowned “Clash of Classes” rally coming up next Thursday (4/28)! Make sure to check in with your class reps to help make posters and plan your dance routines! This is an IHS tradition that we haven’t been able to celebrate since 2019! Remember, each class has a color and theme:
Seniors: Early 2000s (Pink)
Juniors: 1990s (Blue)
Sophomores: 1980s (Yellow)
Freshmen: 1970s (Green)
Cheer tryouts are next week! Anyone interested in auditioning for next year’s team should join the Band app, which includes all the required forms and information. You can find the QR code on the IHS homepage.
Juniors - if you’d like to apply to be a “Flower Girl” for graduation, please find applications in the Activities Office. Flower girls act as the “honor guard” for the ceremony, and it’s a great opportunity to add to your resume!
Attention JUNIORS! T.A. forms for the next school year are now available in the counseling office at Mrs. Gillenwater's desk. Please DO NOT come during class time. Again, this is for current juniors only.
Applications for prom royalty are available in the Activities Office. Juniors will run for Prince/Princess and seniors will run for King/Queen! Don’t miss out!
Seniors, if you’d like to audition to give a speech for this year’s graduation ceremony, tryouts will be held next Monday after school in P2. Speeches must be under 2 minutes in length and should incorporate the senior motto: “We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling 22!” You don’t need to be memorized for the auditions.
Seniors, remember that information regarding graduation and end-of-year activities is posted on the IHS homepage!
Tickets for prom and senior activities are still being sold from the finance office. Please make sure you have all of your paperwork signed and your debt cleared before purchasing a ticket. This week, prom ticket prices are $55. Remember, if you’re bringing someone from outside Independence to prom, you’ll need to have a form completed in the dean’s office. Absolutely no tickets will be sold during class time. Please visit the finance office before school, after school, or during lunch.
Have a great day, Falcons!
