Good morning, Falcons!  Hope everyone is wearing green today - remember, we wear green on Thursdays to promote Mental Health Awareness Month!  If you’d like more information about local mental health providers, stop by our Mental Health Fair outside the PAC today at 5:30 - there will be pizza!!

Seniors!  If you didn’t pick up your cap and gown yesterday, please stop by the Activities Office before school, during lunch, or after school.  If you haven’t ordered yours yet, contact Jostens immediately - time is running out!

Are you struggling with your mental health?  Remember - help is available and you don’t have to suffer alone!  Check in with our social worker, substance abuse specialist, intervention specialist, or your counselor!  And every Monday during lunch, a mental health provider in Kern County will be on campus in front of the Admin building to provide more information about treatment options!

Congratulations to the following students for winning the anti-vaping chalk-art competition organized by Mrs. Wahley and Mrs. Giese!

  • Carlos Peña

  • Destiny Serna

  • Leah Neri

  • Lauryn Sheppard

Looking for a way to stay busy and be productive this summer?  Consider taking a Summer School Course at ROC/CTEC.  The ROC/CTEC Summer School Application is now open on their web-site (roc.kernhigh.org).  The application will be open until Friday June 3rd.  Don't wait....Applications are time-stamped and classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. There are only a certain amount of spaces per class.  Classes being offered are:  3D Design, Personal Trainer and Advanced Selling for Small Business Success.  Class descriptions are available at roc.kernhigh.org.

Seniors, Mrs. Hoyt is planning the Senior Awards Ceremony on June 1st.  We at  Independence High School  would like to recognize the scholarships and awards you have received. Please stop by the Career Center or email her at [email protected]

Have a great Thursday!
