Good morning, Falcons! It’s day 2 of our final spirit week of the year! Loved seeing everyone dressed as Adam Sandler yesterday - bonus points for being extra comfy! Today is “White Lies,” so I’m hoping to see some great whoppers out there. Tomorrow is “Soccer Moms and BBQ Dads,” Thursday is “Crocs and Socks,” and Friday is “Maroon Goons (school colors)!”
Congratulations to the seniors who participated in yesterday’s signing ceremony:
Cameron Brown (University of Redlands)
Gianna Mancilla (Missouri Valley College)
Jonathan Vigil (University of La Verne)
Huge shoutout to our choir students, who performed their final concert last night! What an amazing selection of songs!
Art Club is hosting a Chalk Drawing Contest today, right after school. We are taking over the ground outside of the Library and transforming the cement into works of art as part of our IHS Art Showcase! Family and friends can join in the fun, too. Make sure to come check out the incredible art being drawn on campus!
Our Visual Art Department will have their final showcase today in the library from 4:00 to 6:00pm. Come and see the amazing talent of our Falcon artists! Friends and family are welcome!
Seniors! If you haven’t picked up your cap and gown yet, please stop by the Activities Office before school, during lunch, or after school. If you haven’t ordered yours yet, contact Jostens immediately - time is running out!
Also, graduation information has been posted on the IHS website under the “news” section. If you’re going to Grad Night, please make sure you join the Band app before Thursday!
If you purchased a yearbook, they will be distributed TODAY and TOMORROW in front of room 1104 during lunch ONLY. Students who leave for CTEC or ROC can pick up their book after school on Tuesday or before school on Wednesday. If you are still interested in purchasing a book, go to Jostens.com and sign up for the waitlist. We will begin sending out waitlist letters on 5/24. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Trent at [email protected]
There will be no tutoring today, May 24th. Tutoring will resume in the library on Wednesday May 25. The last day of tutoring will be Thursday, May 26th.
Reminder to all students from the dean's office: Water balloons, squirt guns, and fireworks of any kind are not allowed on campus. Students caught with water balloons, squirt guns, or fireworks will be suspended. Please do not jeopardize your enrollment at Independence or the safety of others.
Have a great Tuesday, Falcons!
