Good morning, Falcons!
September is Suicide Awareness month, and we would like to spread awareness by hosting activities and training opportunities. Tonight, we will have a Suicide Awareness training presented by Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. The training will be in the library from 5:30-6:30PM. Please come by with your parents to learn about the signs of suicide, how to support yourself or a loved one when experiencing crisis, and the services available in the community. School Social Worker, Mrs. Barajas, will also be presenting on the crisis supports available for students while on campus.
Students, you will be viewing a suicide awareness video in your English class in the next coming week. You will learn of the signs of suicide and supports available on campus with your school counselors, interventionist and school social worker.
Congratulations to Darius Spotwood for taking first place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate at the first Kern Debate League Tournament at Stockdale this past weekend.
CSF is accepting applications until September 23rd. You can find the application in the counseling secretary desk or the IHS website.
If you are interested in playing girls’ basketball this year, there will be a mandatory meeting in the gym today during lunch. Grab your lunch and head to the gym ASAP to receive important info regarding pre-season conditioning/tryouts. If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Davis in the Textbook room before or after school.
Falcons, it's time to show you know what the S in RISE stands for! There are still over 1000 students who do not have a 22-23 lunch application on file. These applications help provide many resources for our campus, and we need ALL IHS students' parents or guardians to complete the application before September 30. The application link is on our website and is quick and easy to complete. Let's show SERVICE by filling out the application because it helps the whole school! If you have any questions, see Mr. Varela in the dean's office. The 1st period class with the most applications turned in will win donuts!!
