Link Crew is hosting an Ice Cream Social for freshmen today! Come to the Frosh Volleyball game after school (4pm). Just show your ID for a free ice cream and entrance into the volleyball game.
The Maroon Goons club is selling school spirit shirts! Come by the activities office to pick up your order form for a personalized Maroon Goon shirt! They are great to wear to all I.H.S. events, like homecoming and spirit days. Everyone is welcome to purchase these shirts – all Independence High School students are Maroon Goons! We are selling short sleeved shirts, long sleeved shirts, and hoodies. Sale runs through October 3rd.
If you’re interested in playing girls’ soccer this year, there is a mandatory meeting in the gym today during lunch. Grab your food and head on over!
There will be a boys’ soccer meeting in room 807 during lunch today! Grab your food and head over!
There will be a quick Pride meeting in room 1004 during lunch on Friday.
Attention Marvel fans! The Marvel Club will have its first meeting on Monday in room 605. Come and see what we have in store for you this year!
Students – outside deliveries, food, flowers, etc... will NOT be accepted. Please do not order food to be delivered and do not have your parents bring outside food to you. Every student has access to free lunch at Independence.
We still need to have everyone complete the lunch application - sit down with your parents TONIGHT and answer the easy questions linked on our website. This allows us to receive funds to help with programs and services on campus! Also, the first period that has the highest number of submissions earns a donut party!
If you are taking an AP class, it is time to put down a deposit with the finance office. You only have until October 28th to reserve your test! Make sure you fill out your free and reduced lunch form as soon as possible to see if you qualify for a discount on your test.
Nominees for homecoming royalty - your applications are due TODAY in the activities office!
Next Tuesday is the last day to purchase pre-sale tickets for the Homecoming dance! If you haven’t already picked up a dance contract, please grab one and get it signed before buying your ticket. If you buy your ticket at the door, the price is $20. Remember, the finance office is open before school and during lunch (except for Mondays, when it’s open for an hour after school).
Sign-ups for our first Food Sale Day were sent to all advisors last week. If you’d like to help your club raise money, make sure your advisor has signed up! Signup deadline is tomorrow!
SENIORS: Please schedule your Senior portraits with InMotionPro. All seniors' photos must be submitted by October 31st and MUST be taken by InMotion. The session is free. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Trent in 1104
Independence will be offering the PSAT on Tuesday, October 25. The cost is $20, but Juniors who have completed their free or reduced lunch form may qualify for a free test! Visit the finance office by October 5 to reserve your spot!
