Happy Friday, Falcons! Wish our football players good luck as they battle Porterville tonight in the first round of playoffs!

If you’d like to donate blood and save lives, sign up for the drive we’re hosting next Thursday!  You must be at least 16 years old and have permission slips signed by your parent/guardian.  Permission slips must be submitted before November 8.  Forms are available in the Activities Office! Also don’t forget to scan the QR code to make your appointment time.

Big News for Independence Mathletes!!! Falcons are SECOND PLACE in Kern County after our first ever California Mathematics League Competitive Exam!!! Congratulations to all the students who scored!

Congratulations to our frosh-soph E-Sports team, who won their final tournament and are now our reigning district champions. Also, both the Varsity and JV teams have gone undefeated for the entire season, and we wish them good luck for the championship at North High tomorrow.

Our activities board is updated - check out this month’s events in the display next to the Activities Office!

Make sure to come to the Library Makerspace to build a marble maze, add a gratitude post, or take a Thanksgiving selfie!

Next week, we’ll be distributing boxes to classrooms to collect canned and boxed food for our Thanksgiving drive!  Huge thanks to the UN club for organizing the frozen turkey donation! Students, start bringing in canned or boxed food that would be served for Thanksgiving - like mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, or stuffing.  All donations will be due by Wednesday, November 15.  The class with the most donations will win a donut party!

Seniors!  If you missed the earlier deadline for ordering customized senior shirts and hoodies, you have another chance!  Pick up an order form from the Activities Office!

Cal-SOAP will be helping seniors and their parents fill out their financial aid applications on Monday, November 7th, from 4pm-6pm in the library.

Fall sports athletes: If you haven’t already, please turn in your gear today to the training room with Mr. Carillo.

Want to show off your talent?  Start preparing your song, dance, comedy routine, or whatever talent you have, as auditions for Falcons Got Talent will take place after school on Monday, November 14!  The show will be on December 1!

There is a mandatory soccer meeting for both boys’ and girls’ teams today in the gym during lunch.  Please grab your lunch and meet us in the gym.

Have a fabulous day!  Don’t forget about Daylight Savings Time on Sunday - enjoy your extra hour!
