Good morning, Falcons!

This week is School Counselor Appreciation Week!  Do you ever need a compassionate ear, or someone who will listen without judgment?  Make an appointment with your counselor - they are happy to offer advice or to just listen, which is sometimes just what we need!

February is Black History Month, so we’ll be featuring contributions from Black artists, inventors, and activists this month.  This week, we’ll be featuring a musical tour of Black artists during lunch.  Yesterday, we enjoyed the upbeat sounds of Motown.  Today, we’re taking a trip to the 1970s, when polyester was king and funk, soul, and disco music reigned supreme!  Soul Train, created by Black DJ Don Cornelius in the early 70s, was the first mainstream Black dance and music television show.  It ran for multiple decades and inspired generations of musicians.

Tonight is our Girls’ Basketball Senior Night!  All seniors get in free to the game against Stockdale - just show your ID at the ticket counter!  Come celebrate our senior players and cheer them on!

The CSF application deadline is this Friday.  Pick up your application from the counseling secretary's desk.

Today’s ASB meeting has been moved to 7th period in the cafeteria.  Students, please check in with your teachers first.

Seniors!  Jostens will be on campus during lunch tomorrow (Wednesday) - make sure to order your cap and gown!

We only have a few more weeks until our next Food Sale Day on March 2nd!  Students, check with your club advisors to make sure they’ve signed up to participate!  Signups are due this Friday, February 10, and all paperwork must be submitted to the Finance Office by February 23.

Interested in showing off your skills in a group or solo lip sync act?  It’s getting close to Air Band auditions!  Sign up using the QR code posted in the Activities Office!  Auditions are on March 10!

A message from the Deans and Police Officer: Reminder to all students - no student parking is allowed in any of the staff parking lots.  All students must park in the student parking lot at Old River and Falcon Way.  Student vehicles may be cited or towed if found parked in a staff parking lot.  Thank you.

Calling all aspiring graphic designers!  We’re running a contest for the best designs for our upcoming freshman shirts and hoodies!  Please include the phrase “Class of 2027.”  If your design is selected, you may choose from one of the following prizes: a yearbook, 2 prom tickets, or an equal amount in Falcon merch.  Please submit designs to Mrs. Heiss no later than February 13.

Have a great day, Falcons!
