Good morning, Falcons! Great job showing the love this week! We’ve seen some amazing school spirit! Come out to the quad during lunch to show your dress-up or dress-down outfits - we have Starbucks gift cards and IHS shirts to give out!!
In honor of both Valentine’s Day and Black History Month, let’s remember some of the most inspiring couples who made an impact on American society. Today’s couple is Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King, who dedicated themselves to human rights advocacy and activism. Even after his assassination, Coretta demonstrated the power of love by establishing a national holiday in his honor, founding the King Center in Atlanta and continuing the fight for human rights for all until her death in 2006.
The boys’ basketball team will be moving on to the next level of playoffs, so we’ll host Lompoc tonight at 6pm - come out and support our Falcons!
Falcons, next week kicks off National FFA Week! There will be daily dress up days and lunchtime activities!
Tuesday’s dress up day is: College vs. Careers - wear your favorite college shirt or dress like your future career. Tuesday’s activity is Farmers Market - join us at lunch to sample agriculture commodities.
Wednesday’s dress up day is Boots vs. Crocs - wear your favorite boots or crocs. Wednesday’s activity is Pie an Officer - come out to throw a pie at one of our FFA officers.
Thursday’s dress up day is Blue vs. Gold - wear National FFA colors (blue or yellow). Thursday’s activity is Aggie Olympics - compete with a team of 4 to race through our obstacle course to win a prize.
Friday’s dress up day is Country vs. Country Club - wear your favorite country or country club gear. Friday’s activity is Kiss the Pig: we’ll find out which teacher will kiss the pig. Voting will happen throughout the week during lunch.
AP/Honors applications are now available for the 2023-2024 school year! Pick up a paper copy from Mrs. Moreno in the Counseling Office or download the application from our website!
Don’t miss out on the annual International Mother Language Day event happening next Tuesday, February 21, after school in the cafeteria! It’s an amazing event that celebrates the huge variety of cultures and languages represented at IHS!
