Good morning, Falcons! Hope everyone had an amazing 3-day weekend!
Happy National FFA Week from the Independence Agriculture Program! Today is the first day of National FFA week. The National FFA Board of Directors designated the weeklong tradition, which began in 1948, in recognition of Geroge Washington's legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. A group of young farmers founded FFA in 1928. The organization’s mission is to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population.
Join us in the quad today at lunch for a Farmer’s Market - come to sample local agriculture commodities grown and raised in the San Joaquin Valley.
Teachers - don’t forget to bring your activity card out at lunch every day this week to earn points for the Maroon or Silver Team.
Tomorrow’s activity is “Pie an Officer” and the dress-up day is Boots vs. Crocs, so make sure to come to school wearing your favorite pair of boots or Crocs.
Huge congratulations to our boys’ basketball team for making it to the semi-finals! We’ll be hosting Kingsburg tomorrow at 6 - come out and support your Falcon athletes! Next stop, STATE!
Big congratulations go out also to our baseball team - they won against Shafter and Porterville on Friday and Saturday! Undefeated!! Wish them luck as they face off against East High today!
Our softball team also deserves some kudos! They beat Monache yesterday - great way to start the season!
Wish our boys’ tennis team luck as they face off against Arvin today!
