Independence High School

Friday, April 28, 2023

Good morning, Falcons!   Congratulations to all the participants in yesterday’s rallies!

If you were impressed by the amazing colorguard show yesterday and would like to try out for next year’s team, come to auditions next week!  Auditions will be held May 1st and 2nd, from 4:30 - 6:30pm.  Please see Ms. Liz or Mrs. B with any questions!

Remember, there will be tardy sweeps this entire week between periods 2 through 7, so don’t be late!  Teachers, please lock your doors and only allow students with passes to enter after the bell rings.

Just a reminder that Link Crew applications for the 2023-2024 school year are due today!

Make sure to come to the quad during lunch today!  You will have a chance to pie a Link Leader in the face.  It's only $1!

Next week will kick off Mental Health Awareness month!  Independence will be raising awareness of the mental health supports we have on campus and in the community by hosting activity booths during the lunch period. Please come by and meet our Tier 2/3 Team on Monday! On Tuesday, our School Counselors will be hosting their booth, and on Thursday, the Child Guidance Clinic will be on campus sharing their mental health services and resources with students. All booths will be hosting activities and giving out candy & resource goodies!

On Friday, we can look forward to having a yoga instructor on campus! She will be hosting a yoga session for students in P-11. Please stop by and experience a few minutes of calming relaxation.

Juniors - if you’d like to apply to be a “Flower Girl” for graduation, please find applications in the Activities Office.  Flower girls act as the “honor guard” for the ceremony, and it’s a great opportunity to add to your resume!  The application deadline is next Friday!
