Good morning, Independence! Hope everyone had a great first day yesterday!
The library will be open during lunch, so you can get out of the heat. So, eat your lunch, come find a good book, kick up your feet, and get your “read” on!
For the first two weeks of school, the Finance Office is selling discounted combo packages - save on PE clothes, hoodies, tee-shirts, yearbooks and ASB stickers! More information is available on the website and at the Finance Office window!
If you have completed or are currently in the 3rd year of Spanish, the Spanish Honor Society would like to invite you to meet in room 814 on Thursday August 24th at 12 noon (during lunch) to discuss upcoming activities and membership requirements.
There will be a Boys’ Basketball parent meeting this upcoming Saturday at 1pm in the gym.
Freshmen! If you’re interested in making decisions for our school, helping with rallies, and planning dances, please consider applying for ASB! Applications are available on the IHS website and the “Daily Falcon” Canvas page. All application materials are due August 28, and there will be a mandatory meeting for all applicants during lunch on August 29. See Mrs. Heiss in Activities for more information!
The IHS Pride Club will be meeting during lunch on Wednesday, August 23rd in room 1104. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Trent in 1104.
Senior packages are now on sale! These packages won’t be available long - they’ll only be sold in the finance office until August 31 - so get yours now! Several combos are available, including your senior shirt/hoodie and any customizations! Seniors, tomorrow is “Senior Sunrise” - we’ll meet at 6am in the stadium area to celebrate the beginning of your last year of high school! We’ll have games, a photobooth, and music! Bring some extra cash to buy a churro from the Churroholics food truck!
We'll hand out ID cards during lunch next Monday and Tuesday - make sure to grab yours!
Wish our Frosh/Soph Football and Girls’ Tennis teams luck as they head to away games today! Tomorrow, our JV and Varsity teams will battle Pioneer Valley in Santa Maria! Wish them luck for their first games of the season!
