Good morning, Falcons! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!
Congratulations to our football team for winning against Ridgeview on Friday - we knew you could do it!
Seniors: today is our senior assembly with representatives from Jostens to explain all about graduation regalia. Please go to your 3rd period class so your teacher can take attendance. If you’re in an all-senior class, you’ll all walk together over to the PAC. If you’re in a mixed-grade class, please check in so your teacher can take roll, then head over for the assembly.
Tomorrow Independence will begin this year’s CAML test for all mathletes who are interested. If your teacher isn’t doing it in class, you can do it in room 1001, 1002, 1006 or 1007. There will be prizes awarded again this year for the school’s top scorers! Ask your Math teacher about this unique opportunity!
This Thursday is our first Food Sale Day! For those of you new to IHS, we’ll have vendors selling KFC, Chick-Fil-A, Jamba Juice, Crumbl, Get it Twisted, tacos, quesadillas, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, crepes, and more!
Any freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who missed the first picture day - take note! Tomorrow we’ll be calling you by last name/grade for picture makeups in the gym lobby. Freshmen will be called during 1st and 2nd, juniors will be called during 3rd and 5th, and sophomores will be called during 6th and 7th. Order forms will be available in the gym lobby.
Spanish Honor Society will meet tomorrow, October 17th, during lunch in room 814. We will discuss upcoming community service hours opportunities.
Do you want to learn sign language? Come and join the ASL club. Meetings are held every Monday during lunch in room 607. See Ms. O'Mullan for more information.
Interested in a community service opportunity? Stockdale Elementary is holding their annual school carnival on Thursday Oct. 19th from 3:45-7:30pm. Sign up with the counseling secretary.
It’s almost time for Halloween, which means we’re getting close to our 2nd-annual Trunk or Treat event on Thursday, October 26! Clubs interested in participating should sign up using the form sent to all advisors no later than this Friday, October 20. Each club is responsible for decorating their vehicle and providing individually-wrapped candy. The club that wins the decorating contest will win a portion of the event’s profits!
Hey Falcons, if you find yourself in need of tutoring, homework help, or just a place to study, don't forget there are teacher tutors in the cafeteria every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:15-5:15. There's even a bus to take you home after. Check the flyers around campus or see Ms. Jackson in room 601 for more details.
If you’re interested in playing baseball this spring, please see Coach Shelton in the PE office for information regarding the upcoming season.
Attention AP students: You are now able to put down a deposit on your AP test at the finance office. The deadline to reserve a test for the price of $98 is Oct 27. Don't wait!
