On This Day in Black History - In 1926, Carter G. Woodson established Negro History Week. The celebration highlighted Black Americans' history, lives, and contributions. In 1976, Negro History Week expanded to the month-long celebration we observe today.


Happy National Counselors week. We are fortunate to have such amazing counselors on our campus. Thank you for all you do. Be sure to say Thank you to your counselor.

Next week is Spirit Week. Dress up Days are…..
Tuesday: 90’s
Wednesday: Pan African wear Red, Green or Purple
Thursday: Sports Attire rep your favorite sports team or athlete
Friday: Valentines Day wear Red White or Pink

Our next blood drive will be held on Thursday, February 13th. Permission slips are available in the Activities office. Spots are filling up fast - get your permission slip turned in asap.

Show your friends, favorite teachers or that special someone how much you appreciate them with a Valentine's Gram! Each gram will include a sweet treat and a special message for only $2! They will be available to purchase at lunch in the quad from February 11th-13th! Don't miss out and spread some love this Valentine's Day!

Speaking of Valentine’s day. What better way to spend time with your favorite Valentine than watching a movie. There will be a Valentine’s movie night on Thursday, February 13 from 4p-6p here at IHS. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and join us for an afternoon movie with your Valentine.

CSF applications are now available. Come to the counseling office before school, lunch or after school to pick up the application. It is also available on our website. Deadline to apply is this Friday, February 7th.
