Independence High School has four new opportunities for parents to get involved and learn more about the school. In addition to our Booster Organizations, we’re looking for parents who would like to be involved in one or more of the following:
- School Site Council Representative – 3 parents needed to attend
4 meetings per year, for a two-year term. This public meeting allows student, staff and parents members to provide input and oversight to the group about the use of supplemental funds for school improvement.

- District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) Representative – 3 parents to attend 3 district meetings per year on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30pm. Participants will learn about the operation of current programs and planned future programs of the district.

April 11th, 2019 Independence High School Library
- Accreditation Parent Representatives – At least 5 parents to attend 2 meetings from 1:30 to 2:30, once per semester, plus one meeting with the accrediting agency on March 11th or 12th, 2019. The parents provide insight to the agency about the operation of the school and community needs.
- Principal Partners Day – Looking for business owners or a representative of their staff who wish to tour the school during the morning of October 17th, followed by an informative luncheon. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity to discuss curricular offerings, meet with students and teachers, and discover ways that the private and public sector can work together to improve our local educational programs.
