Greetings, Falcon Families!
It's hard to believe October is nearly over! This month has been filled with opportunities for enrichment on and off campus, and we're proud to be able to offer our students so many experiences related to college and career pathways. More than 40 students from LISTOS (Latinos in Stride to Obtain Success) visited Diablo Canyon Power Plant to learn about the many career options available in the energy industry. Speech and Debate students attended a tournament at University of the Pacific, and our amazing Falcon artists participated in the annual Via Arte festival, showcasing their phenomenal talents in vivid displays!
Interested in bringing your family to a fun (and safe!) Halloween event? This Tuesday, from 6:00 - 8:00pm, IHS clubs invite the community to participate in our 3rd-annual Trunk or Treat, where clubs compete to design the most creative display for candy distribution! Admission is only $2 (children under 2 are free), food trucks will be on-site (no need to worry about dinner!), and all are welcome!
Our fall athletes have continued to impress, and playoffs are right around the corner! Come cheer for our football team as they square off against BHS this Friday!
This week, we'll celebrate the hard work and achievements of our water polo seniors (Monday), and we'll end the week with our senior football players, band and colorguard students, cheerleaders, and cross-country runners, along with their families - at our annual Senior Night. This is a beautiful way to honor the many sacrifices our students’ parents, step-parents, and grandparents make to ensure their success.
Remember, if your student needs some additional help in one or more subjects, we have an excellent after-school tutoring program that runs from 4:15pm to 5:15pmevery Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with a bus provided for students needing later transportation.
Interested in more ways to get involved at IHS? Looking for some additional resources? Our Parent and Family Center is here to help! Find out how to become an “observer” on Canvas to track your student’s academic progress.
