Greetings, Falcon Families!
The holidays are quickly approaching! As we look forward to our time with family and friends, let us not forget to take a moment to remember what we are grateful for. All of us at IHS are grateful for our amazing students and their families. We’d like to invite you to attend our “Pizza with the Principal” event on Monday, November 18, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there! Also, please join us for "National Parent Involvement Day" in the student drop-off area on Thursday from 8:30 - 9:00 - we'll be handing out goodie bags to show how much we appreciate our Falcon families!
As we approach the end of the first semester, it is critical that our students focus on demonstrating mastery of the concepts and skills they have learned in the past several months in order to do well on their finals. Please encourage them to attend our after-school tutoring sessions available on Tuesdays through Thursdays (late transportation provided) or access our online tutoring support on tutor.com. We even have a special evening of tutoring oriented to our newest Falcons - our annual "Cocoa and Cram" will be held in the cafeteria on December 17 for 2 hours after school. This is an event in which both teachers and Link Crew Leaders will offer tutoring and guidance, along with hot cocoa for some holiday cheer, before finals begin.
We are in the midst of a new athletic season, but we want to recognize an amazing fall season at our Fall Sports Awards night, which will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 6pm in the PAC. Also, congratulations to our girls golf team for winning the league championship!
Our annual Thanksgiving food drive ends on Tuesday, but there is still time to send any nonperishables with your student to help the cause! Our Fall Blood Drive is Thursday, November 21; students 16 and older are invited to participate. December will be a short but busy month with our annual “Adopt-A-Star” children’s gift drive and “Dime Wars” competition. If you have any questions about these events, please contact Karen O'Mullan in our Activities Office.
Winter Formal tickets will go on sale starting this week! With the theme of "A Night in Wonderland," the dance will be held at the beautiful Luxe Event Center on January 11, 2025, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm (students must arrive before 8:00pm in order to gain entry). More details regarding pricing, guest contracts, and royalty applications will be forthcoming.
