Greetings, Falcon Families!
It’s hard to believe we are at the end of the first semester! Everyone has been busy getting ready for their finals. Please remember that we will be on our Final Exam bell schedule Wednesday through Friday (see the schedule here). If your freshman is anxious about finals, please encourage him/her to attend our annual “Cocoa & Cram” tutoring event on Tuesday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the cafeteria! There will be teachers and Link Crew leaders providing assistance in a variety of subject areas, along with some holiday cocoa! Late transportation will be provided.
There will be no in person tutoring the week of finals (with the exception of Cocoa and Cram) or the week of January 6, 2025. Tutoring will resume on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Tutoring via tutor.com will remain open during this time.
Last week classes competed in a Dime War competition to raise money for a local non-profit. Mrs. Malson's 2nd period class raised the most dimes and Mrs. Herrera's 2nd period class raised the most overall. Thank you for your generosity.
We have been working hard to help Suburu and Lakeside students have gifts during the holiday season through our Adopt-a-Star program. The unwrapped gifts may be brought in until Monday, December 16. This is a wonderful way to help our local community. Gifts will be delivered to Suburu and Lakeside this week. We hope the Grinch does not do anything to sabotage the delivery.
Our annual Falcons Got Talent show was held on December 13. It was quite a success! There was a variety of singing, dancing, and comedy acts. It was hard for our judges to select a winner with such amazingly talented students. The First-place winner was Leslie Bertram. The Second-place winners were the duo Annelyse Carmona and Gabriel Anaya. The Third-place winner was Isaih Jefferson. What a fantastic night!
Winter Formal tickets are currently on sale! The formal will be held on January 11, 2025, at Lux Event Center from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The last day to buy tickets is Thursday, January 9th. Additional details regarding pricing and guest contracts are available on the IHS website and Instagram.
Interested in more ways to get involved at IHS? Looking for some additional resources? Our Parent and Family Center is here to help! Find out how to become an “observer” on Canvas to track your student’s academic progress.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 661.834.8001 - we appreciate your support!
