COUNSELING CORNER
The Link Crew Leaders will be hosting the annual "Cocoa and Cram" study session for 9th graders from 4:00-6:00 in the Cafeteria. There will be teachers representing all of the subject areas as well as student Link Leaders to assist the freshmen before they take their first final exams. Transportation will be available.
When we resume on January 8th, students will report to their 1st period, 1st semester class. Teachers will pass out "official schedules" to students. If the student's 1st period has changed, they will be given a few minutes to report to their new class.
Bakersfield College will be on campus all day on December 6th to help seniors apply for summer and/or fall of 2024. Counselors visited Econ and Government classes on Tuesday and Wednesday of this past week to inform students of the application workshop and to sign them up. Students will be attending the application workshop during their Economics or Government class on December 6th. |

Greetings, Falcon Families!
It’s hard to believe we’re already in December! As mentioned last week, there are only a few short weeks until the end of the first semester. Please encourage your students to attend our after-school tutoring sessions available on Tuesdays through Fridays (late transportation provided) or to access our online tutoring support on tutor.com. We even have a special evening of tutoring oriented to our newest Falcons - our annual "Cocoa and Cram" will be held in the cafeteria on December 19 for 2 hours after school. Both teachers and Link Crew Leaders will offer tutoring and guidance, along with hot cocoa for some holiday cheer, before finals begin.
Three of our Falcons earned the distinction of perfect scores on the state CAASPP assessment during their junior years. Elijah Bryan and Jared Tan earned perfect scores on the ELA test (out of only 13 in the entire district), and Steven Han earned a perfect score on the Math test (out of only 19)! Congratulations!
We are incredibly proud of our talented Falcons! On Thursday, our annual Falcons Got Talent show was a huge success. Congratulations to Natalie Flores (3rd place), Amy Torres and Donna Fierro (2nd place) and Emery Camacho (1st place)!
Want to experience more of our campus talent? December 7 is the opening night for our Winter play, A Christmas Chaos, which runs through Saturday, December 9. Then, our choir and band will present their holiday concerts (December 12 and 14, respectively).

Winter Formal tickets will go on sale starting tomorrow! With the theme of "Night of a Thousand Lights," the dance will be held at the beautiful Batey Gardens at the Kern County Museum on January 27, 2024, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm (students must arrive before 8:00pm in order to gain entry).
