Greetings, Falcon Families!
It's been another great week at Independence! We wrapped up Black History Month with a tribute to "Black Singers, Past & Present," via a door decorating competition - all the participants deserve major kudos, as their presentations were inspiring and innovative!
Our United Nations Club presented the annual "Mother Language Day" event, showcasing a variety of cultural dress, dancing, food, and information. We have such a wealth of cultural representation on campus - it's beautiful to see them all celebrated!
We honored our winter athletes at the Sports Awards Night on Wednesday, highlighting their incredible seasons and individual/team performances. Special recognition went to our Valley Champions, the Lady Falcons soccer team!
The end of Quarter 3 is fast approaching, so if your student is struggling in a particular subject, please encourage him/her to attend our after-school tutoring sessions. Tutoring sessions are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school until 5:15pm in room 1101. A late bus will be provided. IHS also offers 24-hour access to Tutor.com, which provides individualized academic support. Interested in more ways to get involved at IHS? Looking for some additional resources? Our Parent and Family Center is here to help! Find out how to become an “observer” on Canvas to track your student’s academic progress.
