COUNSELING CORNER
Students met with counselors before Spring Break to sign up for classes for next year as well as summer school. Please ask your student what their plan is! They were given summer school details if it is needed. Families will receive a confirmation letter from the district office the last week of May.
1st Semester Summer School: June 3-June 21
2nd Semester Summer School: June 24-July 12
- 7:30-12:00, Monday through Friday
- Students must provide their own transportation.
- Students are only allowed 3 absences in a 6 week class and 2 absences in a 3 week class (excused or unexcused).
- Students can be dropped on the 3rd absence in a 3 week class and the 4th absence in a 6 week class.
Senior Parents: The FAFSA deadline has once again been extended to May 2nd. If families need assistance filling out the FAFSA, they may reach out to our College Success Coach, Maria Evaro. [email protected]

Greetings, Falcon Families!
This week was a whirlwind: we hosted Lakeside students for a joint band concert on Tuesday, resumed state testing, took our seniors' panoramic photo and handed out caps and gowns, held the first annual Big Art and Food Festival, honored our senior swimmers, and celebrated a cultural dance/fashion show! Graduation information has been posted to our website, so please make sure you review all the details for the event. Caps and gowns - if not already ordered - can be purchased from Jostens Bakersfield by calling 661-324-8529.
If you'd like to purchase a yearbook, we still have a few left! They can be purchased at Jostens.com or from the Finance Office for $95. If you have any questions, please contact Leslie Trent at [email protected].
It's not too late to help improve your student's grades! Tutoring sessions are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school until 5:15pm in room 1101. A late bus will be provided. IHS also offers 24-hour access to Tutor.com, which provides individualized academic support.
