Can you believe that the new school year is about to begin? We hope that you and your family have had a wonderful summer. Independence High School is looking forward to welcoming all our Falcons this Wednesday, August 14!
There will be a number of activities throughout the year. You and your student do not want to miss out on any information. Please be sure to follow us on our Instragram page (@ihsfalcons) or view our website for details about events and opportunities planned throughout the year. You will find information about upcoming football games, rallies, dances, etc. Just to name a few!
Students are able to access their schedules via StudentVUE - and parents can log in through ParentVUE. Students will also receive paper copies of their schedules on the first day of school. ID cards will be distributed during lunch within the first couple of weeks.
All students have been enrolled in the "Daily Falcon" Canvas course, which provides access to daily announcements, information about services available, episodes of News from the Nest, and class-specific announcements. Parents, you are encouraged to sign up in Canvas to be an "observer" - this allows you to see all the details for your student's classes. Please contact our Parent Center for information on how to sign in!
Mark your calendar! We will be holding our Back To School Night program on Monday, August 26, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The evening will begin in the gym with an introductory session at 5:30pm. Following the introductory session, at 6pm. you may visit classrooms where there will be teacher presentations. Link Crew Leaders and ASB officers will be available throughout the campus in order to provide information and assistance.
