CTE Photography, Media Arts and Multimedia Publications

CTE - Career Technical Education

What is CTE Photography?
Photography is the study of various camera settings while learning creative and technical control. This course builds the foundation for visual literacy regarding both form and content of photographic images. The elements and principles of design as they relate to photography are emphasized.

What is CTE Media Arts?

Media Arts is the study of human communication through film, photography, video, audio, computer/digital arts, and interactive media. Creatively, students employ the elements of space, time, light, motion, color, and sound to express their perspectives, feelings, and ideas. Critically, they learn to interpret and evaluate media within aesthetic, cultural, and historical contexts to become more enlightened consumers and effective citizens. Media Arts is aesthetic-based and uses elements and tools of current and emerging technologies to create works that express feelings and ideas.

What is CTE Multimedia Publications?

Multimedia Publications is a year-long course designed to provide students with the opportunity to utilize digital tools and multimedia software, produce interactive media projects, and create digital publications. Students use various digital tools and software to publish online and in print. This class is responsible for designing the yearbook and students need to apply for the course through an application in early spring.
